Failure… an excerpt from the soon to be released book:
Motivation for the World, One Word at a Time by Gary A. McAbee
It is an amazing concept! The thought that failure will be a part of the process of success is hard to believe. Let me be clear: failure will be a part of your journey toward victory. It is highly unlikely that you will undertake any task or series of tasks without making a mistake or two along the way. These mistakes are failures, and too many failures can end the pursuit of success. In order to understand the idea completely, we should break down the meaning of failure.
Failure means not achieving the desired outcome; it means not having success. Therefore it runs counter to everything we are discussing in this book. Yet, failure must be included here because it is a part of the success process. If you are not failing at something, you are not trying hard enough! It sounds cliché, but it is true that failure simply reveals one way something cannot be done. The crossroads we all face when we fail is what we will do next. This is where some people persevere, and others fade away. Some fight harder, while others end the battle. Some people advance, but others retreat. We need to look at failure from this perspective…
You cannot let failure cause you to doubt your victory. You cannot let failure shake your faith. You cannot let failure turn your “if” into never. You cannot let failure ruin your dreams. You cannot let failure steal your vision. You cannot let failure rob you of your motivation. You cannot let failure change your goals. You cannot let failure heighten your fears. You cannot let failure finish your quest for knowledge. You cannot let failure stop you from taking risks. You cannot let failure change your character. You cannot let failure prevent you from doing your work. You cannot let failure impede your ability creating luck. You cannot let failure end your need to persevere.
You cannot let failure stand in the way of your success! Never, ever!
…As we close the book on failure, it is important to understand that the world continues to turn regardless of whether or not you face your fears and failures. Remember, there is a possibility of failure every time we set out to achieve victory. Every time we chase our dreams, failure lurks. Every time we set a goal, failure looms. Every time we go to work, failure lies in wait. The only way to overcome failure is to meet it head on. This can come in the form of service, or it can come in the form of self-improvement. Either way, failure is a critical component of the success process that is sure to block your path at some point. The best thing to do is figure out how to build a bridge to get over your failure in order to become successful.
Affirmation: I accept that failure is a part of the process that I will overcome daily in order to become more successful.
